The only reason why "the guardians of the world’s geological timescale have firmly rejected a proposal to declare an #Anthropocene epoch" (www.theguardian.com/science/2024...) is that they were waiting for the chance to vote on my alternative term: the #assholocene 😂

So, while I'm pleased that my ideas are beginning to circulate, the fact that the The New Yorker has designated the era we live in the #assholocene without referencing my text (steadyhq.com/de/friedlich...) does grate a teensy bit.
