Reprocessing some old data of NGC7635 Bubble Nebula, to keep my hand in processing methods using a combination of VeraLux and existing Siril scripts. #Astrophotography #astronomy #siril #astrophotos #astroimages

It’s been a while since i tried a nebula - not ideal targets for high resolution, short duration exposures but you can still put together pleasing #astroimages - i actually went out to look for Cygnus-X1 but lingered in the area πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ - #Sh2-101 #TulipNebula #astronomy #astro #EAA

This colorful region of glowing gas, often called the Veil Nebula, is part of the large, old supernova remnant called the Cygnus Loop. A massive star exploded some 10-20 thousand years ago and the remnant is still glowing in places. Astronomers have determined that oxygen, sulfur, and hydrogen atoms are contributing to the glow.

We see the Veil Nebula, a small part of a vast ancient remnant of an exploded star, still glowing with colorful emissions from hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur atoms.

I took this last October and finally got around to processing this image. The images were taken over three sessions. Total exposure was about 10 hours. (332x2min exp).

This is the Triangulum Galaxy (M33), half size of our galaxy.

WR8, a Wolf-Rayet Star. These are massive stars losing their outer layers forcefully toward the end of their lives. The blue is the ejected material, the reddish glow comes from glowing gas and dust lying behind or front of the star, but not connected with it.

Beautiful image by Robert Fesen & collaborators showing a Wolf-Rayet star (WR8) -- a massive star violently letting go its outer layer (blue) against a background of glowing gas.

The spiral galaxy M83 highlighting red regions of glowing gas and dust, where new stars and planets are forming. It's been called the galaxy of a thousand rubies. Image composed by Robert Gendler from Hubble and other telescope data.

Beautiful composite image by #RobertGendler of galaxy M83, 12 million lightyears away. The red regions are nebulae, where gas clouds are glowing with the energy of recently-formed baby stars within them.

Beautiful new infrared image of "star-death" nebula NGC1514 with the #JamesWebb telescope. The dying star in the center is actually a pair of stars that orbit each other in 9 years; the #nebula is hourglass shaped. #astronomy #astroedu #NASA #JWST #space #spacephotography #astroimages #spaceimages

Best thing these days is to look away from the events on this planet and into the past 12 m yrs.

This image of M81 (Bode's Galaxy) - centre and M82 (The Cigar Galaxy) - right took 7.5 hours over 3 nights from just outside the middle of London.

To stop me ranting about the state of the modern world:

This is M33 imaged about 12 miles from the centre of London (Bortle 7 since you are desperate to know) - 6.5 hours over 3 nights.

The Embryo Nebula in Perseus imaged through the light pollution of the outskirts of London (Bortle 7).

A reflection nebula in Perseus?
