The push and pull between these two, the very fine line between hate and desire… its SO damn good. The tension in this one was top freakin notch and then when they finally stopped fighting it, not only was it steamy and satisfying (hello, dual bi-awakening/gay-awakening with competitive “I’ll be the better power bottom, I’ll be the throat GOAT” energy 😍), the subsequent slow lust-to-feelings arc was incredible. It was believable, the tender moments that were peppered in were a gorgeous contrast to their explosive chemistry, and I really liked the family drama in this one (especially the surprise twist at the end). This one is def top three Sadenverse for me, and I actually liked this one a hair better than the first CU Hockey which is a shock because I really loved the nerd/jock angle.
This gets it own post, because I loved Becks & Jacobs’ book so much.

Awkward nerdy gay guy x protective heart-of-gold bi jock is like, a dream ship combo. Add to that I love the way Foster respects and admires Zach without putting him on a pedestal or treating him like glass (like his twin does, well meaning that he is), and that Zach finds comfort and safety with Foster but also is taken out of his comfort zone and has fun for once. Their whole dynamic is adorable and I loved every second of their romance arc. My only complaint was that the steam level is much lower than the other Sadenverse books, but I think these are earlier? So maybe that’s why. It didn’t make it bad, I just wanted a little more - especially with the build up around Zach’s virginity. I mean if you’re going to go there, I want a more juicy deflowering 😂 (esp with Foster being so sweet and such a consent king).
