Book pile and xiao long bao plus text: January 19th, 2025   Keri asked to go book browsing so we headed up to Banter in Fremont. I’ve been wanting to share it with her so hooray!   I picked two books for our two-person book club. We read this month the Spell Shop by Sarah Beth Durst. We vowed to keep the theme "cozy" but I might fail in my picks. I’m going with "The Once and Future Witches" by Alix E. Harrow for February and “All the Birds in the Sky" by Charlie Jane Anders for April.   After browsing we went to "Din Ding" for xiao long bao. That place is better than Din Tae Fung. At least it’s easier to get seated.   I met my goal to be off M*** by today. It’s absurd the degree they are enmeshed in communications. I do still need to get connected to a few people on Signal so I can dump Whatsap.   People are relieved the new regime will restore TikTok. It’s terrifying to know that without concrete basis, communication and livelihood can be wiped out.
