Sweet 16 announced for Michigan Craft Beer Bracket challenge, next round of voting starts The competition is getting steeper and the choices are tougher as we head into the next round of voting in the Michigan Craft Beer Bracket Challenge. So far we've seen newer neighborhood brewpubs duke it out, and well-distributed bigger names go head-to-head. Independent breweries from across the state are still in the game. Voting is now open to determine which of the 16 competitors will make it to the next round of eight. Voting for this round runs through 11:59 a.m. Wednesday. The champion brewery, announced in early April, will get a trophy and bragging rights, plus a feature in The Detroit News.
