Alexander Murray #whisky bottler has in their portfolio a nice 10 yo Benrinnes 2014 single barrel release. It’s aged in Palo Cortado cask and bottled a 54% ABV cask strength. ~$66

Heading towards a pointy summit with a small rocky outcrop, the ground is mostly white with snow & rocks showing through. But there is a gravel path up which is mostly clear of snow. Moray the dog is stood on the path. Blue sky.

Ben Rinnes is a distinctively shaped hill, always in the view from the Northern Cairngorms, & has always been on my to-do list. Today we did it.

A gift from my brother which we cracked last night. This #Benrinnes is the ultimate sherry bomb - spiced red berries, strong coffee, orange rind & rich oak on the nose. The taste is sweet stewed black tea & blackcurrant jam. Just the neck pour so a little closed off but benefits from a little water.
Benrinnes 13 yr old 1st fill Oloroso butts, indi bottled @ 57.1% un-chillfiltered, no added colouring
In Scotland we keep the lesser known good stuff for ourselves
Benrinnes uses wormtubs too which create a beating heart
This is exceptional whisky for £48
