#GwangjangMarket is an essential spot for trying all kinds of traditional foods. For us, these stops were #ILHO #Coffee (incredible, never had black coffee that tasted like lychee before - 10/10) and #GarlicBoy. Also #Abebe for cream filled buns.

#DeoksugungPalace is located in the heart of #Seoul right by the City Hall (a very interesting structure). It is also open until 9PM, so can it lit up. There is an urban myth that couples that walk down Stone-wall Road to the left of the gate break up.

I don't think I will ever fully understand the obsession with #hands (and thumbs) in #SouthKorea - they are everywhere.

All of these are in #Seoul - #Gangnam, by #COEX, in #OlympicPark and #SeoulGrandPark.

#Boseong area is known for its #greentea production. It is also where you can find the Tea Museum of #Korea, which is definitely worth a visit to learn about tea culture and history.

And of course, can't have a beach without another #hand sculpture!

#Gwangyang Plum Blossom Village is an incredible place to visit in March. The whole hill is in full #bloom with pops of pink and yellow in the sea of white. Make sure to try the green plum soft serve, it was one of the best ice-creams I have ever had.

#Gyeongju was the capital of #SouthKorea under the Silla rule and is still the perfect setting for shooting a historical #kdrama - which is something that we happened to see. Best guess it is for #Soul and I am sad I did not get to see #ChoiHyunWook

#Bulguksa Temple in #Gyeongju was built under Silla rule in the 700's and a lot of the stone construction is original to that time. Dabotap pagoda is on the 10 won coin and is one of the 6 National treasures of #SouthKorea inside the temple grounds.

#Hands of Harmony sculptures in #HomigotSquare in #Pohang represent coexistence and harmony, with one partially submerged in the ocean. #SouthKorea overall seems to be obsessed with sculptures of hands (and thumbs) but that's another post.

#Pohang wasn't even on my radar for a stop until I found the #hand sculptures (which will be a post for tomorrow). Bring shrimp crackers if you want to feed the seagulls and add a visit to the lighthouse museum to your plan for the day.

#Sokcho has been mentioned in #kdrama so many times, we had to make a stop on our road trip through #SouthKorea (even if it was brief). The #beach definitely lived up to the hype. Wish had a bit more time to explore

These pictures do not do #Seoraksan National Park justice - it is even more beautiful in almost any other time of the year. At the top you can see remnants of the #GwongeumseongFortress that you can access via a cable car and a short hike

#Andong is one of the cultural hot-spots in #SouthKorea with city actively working to preserve folk and culinary traditions. If you ever get a chance to try Andong Chicken Stew, you definitely should. #WoryeonggyoBridge is the longest wooden bridge in SK.

One of the best-preserved Joseon settlements in #SouthKorea is #HahoeFolkVillage, just outside of #Andong. It has structures with thatched roofs that are uncommon and date back to the 15th century. You can still watch the village's well-known Mask Play.

#SeomunMarket in #Daegu was easily my favorite out of all the markets we checked out on our trip. Slightly chaotic, diverse but not overwhelming. Traditional cookies were a highlight - you can find a version at your local H-Mart.

We spent a few days in #Daegu - partially because of the stairs in "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" #kdrama - Daegu is third largest city in SK after greater Seoul and Busan. Very pretty and super transitable.

Protective stone city walls built in 1394-1422 encircle #Seoul and can be seen at night wrapping around it on the local mountains. You can peak though the #Openings to see the city below.

To get into any of the Royal Palaces in #Seoul for free, you have to dress up in traditional clothing. There is an alley of rental shops by #GyeongbokgungPalace with prices starting at around ₩20,000/ hr (or pay ₩3,000 at the gate for entry)

#NamdaemunMarket is an old-school general merchandise market in #Seoul. You can find almost anything there - souvenirs, fun t-shirts, socks and a good variety of traditional dishes.

Continued to live our #bestkdramalife with #Ramyeon on the #HanRiver and then a "cruise". The most cost effective way to see #Seoul #SouthKorea from the water is to take Hangang Bus Yeouido Ferry from Oksu to Ttukseom. Only costs ₩3000 ($3) and takes just under 30 min.
