Full color digital art illustration with a detailed background (actually a comic page) from my Out of Memory webcomic. It is a dark fantasy and horror comic (with a tiny slice of sci-fi) about a pacifistic warrior and his journey to find the truth about his family.
The drawing depicts the morally ambiguous character "Yaoshe Baiqiao" (aka. "Yao") sitting leisurely in a traditional Chinese-style room. He is an influential politician and schemer who appears to be allied with the main protagonist.
He is an elegant bishie (pretty boy) who appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties, with long, curly medium purple hair that extends past his shoulders and pink eyes with white pupils. He is wearing an elaborate red and purple outfit that resembles traditional Chinese hanfu and is holding a pipe that is shaped like a serpent's head in his right hand. Yao’s outfit is extremely expensive and is decorated with a good amount of gold and gemstones. His boots and sash are especially elaborate and have large, teardrop-shaped rubies embedded in them.
Yao has an enigmatic smile on his face. A large wisp of pink smoke can be seen emanating from the mouth of the pipe.

The top row feature “Makoto Kurosawa” / Zhen Xinyi and “Yaoshe Baiqiao.”
Makoto is a man who appears to be in his twenties. He has blue hair and light blue-purple eyes, and is wearing a black sleeveless top with a hood. He is smiling and appears to be beckoning the viewer. A crow is sitting on his left shoulder, giving the audience a side-eye.
“Yao” is a pale man who appears to be the same age as Makoto. He has wavy purple hair and pink eyes with white pupils. He is wearing a dark red outfit that resembles a Chinese hanfu, and is wearing gold claws on his right hand. A large, purple serpent is shown behind him.
The second row features "Gyoku Kurosawa" / Jade Scorpion and a villain whose name hasn’t been revealed.
Gyoku is a dark-skinned man with wavy white hair and jade-green eyes with a ring around each pupil. He is wearing a black sleeveless top with gold trim and fancy shoulder-length gloves. Pinned to his cloak is a fancy, green and gold brooch that resembles a scorpion. He is looking to the side and appears downcast.
The villain is a light-skinned man with black, pupil-less eyes and crimson hair tied in a ponytail. He's wearing a white blazer with gold trim and black faux fur. He is looking over his shoulder towards Gyoku (off-screen) and sports an ominous grin.
The third row features Aisling Jespersen and Alba Ardiente, the main characters of the Heap Arc.
Aisling is a young woman with short, wavy white hair and pink, pupil-less eyes. She is wearing a dark red winter outfit with a white cape, and is angrily glaring at Alba. She has her right hand on his shoulder.
Alba Ardiente is a dark-skinned young man with brown wavy hair tied in a low side ponytail. He has orange eyes with white, flame-shaped pupils. He is wearing a white, gold-trimmed coat with a cape. Alba is looking back at Aisling and is smiling slyly.
Cover for Out of Memory - Chapter 5. It features Makoto Kurosawa (real name: Zhen Xinyi) sitting in a well-lit deck with Chinese-style windows, enjoying afternoon tea and snacks. The deck is several stories above ground, as the sky and the upper branches of a tree are all that’s visible through the open windows. In one of the panels, crows are shown flying in the sky.
Makoto is sitting at a wooden table. Both the table and the bench he’s sitting on have matching hand-carved decorations. He’s holding a teacup in his gloved right hand, and his left hand is partially hidden by the objects on the table. On top of the table is teapot and a plate of what seems to resemble real-life rice balls. His long bangs are covering his eyes, hiding most of his expression.
Makoto is wearing a fantasy version of traditional East Asian attire. Even if his outfit were drawn in full color, it would all be different shades of black and white. The collar of his outfit covers most of his neck and ends just below his chin. His long, white cape starts at the base of the collar and extends almost all the way to the ground. Since Makoto is sitting, a good portion of the cape is tucked away and to the side.
Dialog:

Makoto: I see.
From the Out of Memory - Prologue.
Princess Sheng Feng is shown falling from a great height, as the building she was hiding in is shown crumbling in the background. The brooch she wears at her waist emits a powerful light. Shortly after, a small white phoenix emerges from the brooch, and Sheng Feng reaches desperately for her. The phoenix grabs onto the back of Sheng Feng's collar, breaking her fall. They turn to face a large Chinese-style house, which has ominous wisps of smoke emanating from it.
