Day 9 #blacksims31 challenge: Tanzania. Kanoni Rajabu of the Haya tribe's has been tasked to manage her family's shrineas their family bore no sons and her father has passed. Despite being a woman, she is determined to not let her family's shrine fall to ruin.
Day 8 #blacksims31 challenge: Senegal. Mbaye Hane's family has always worked in Senegal's lucrative fishing industry as a way to sustain their family, so as an adult now, he has chosen to follow suit. It may just be a job, but he truly loves and takes pride in it.
Day 7 #blacksims31 challenge: Mali. Aminata Guinde always soaked up all the many stories crafted by her people. Malinese literature is widely passed orally, but it's Aminata's dream to join the greats such as Yambo Ouologuem and add to the country's written stories.
Day 6 #blacksims31 challenge: Ghana. Afreya Ofoso, her name means born in delightful times, she was named as such to manifest good fortune. As an adult Afreya lives by her name by hustling running her own adinkra clothing business in hopes of becoming a millionaire.
Day 5 #blacksims31 challenge: Angola. Jacinta Queiroz's Ambundo tribal language was almost lost after generations of assimilation under Portugues rule, but her thirst for knowledge helped her rediscover it. She's now studying to teach it in her community so it's never lost again
Day 4 of the #blacksims31 challenge is Ethiopia. Eshe Zera spent her youth listening to legendary Ethiopian singer Asnakech Worku. Impressed by her ability to excel at singing, acting, and being an instrumentalist, Eshe aspires to be just like her, but she has a long way to go
Day 3 of the #blacksims31 challenge is Cameroon. Awalou Ngono is the only son of his family who often feels immense pressure from his father to "be a man" and carry on the family name. But he's never felt particularly manly and always feels like he's letting his family down
