Marking reference of an illithid character, showing the front and back of their body.

Thez'Taress

Illithid - Major
Andro | 62 | 7'1 - 215.9 cm
Librarian | Lawful Neutral
---
After being run from Oryndoll, the near feral Taress spent several years haunting the Snakewood, Greenfields, and eventually the Sharp Teeth woods, eating whoever and whatever they could.
The Lost Ring's dead zone left Taress with no psionic power, and a poor diet of only animals exasperated this. They believe they have permanently lost their psionics.
By their early 60s, much of the apprenticeship scaring on their back has faded, but is still somewhat visible.
While Taress may be a coward, Ilsensine saw them as the perfect vehicle for the Absolute's destruction due to their experience as a Venerator, but more importantly, convenient placement.
Taress saved many paychecks to buy the ring of mind shielding on their finger, not only does it protect them from any nosy humans, but also the mercenary who still hunts them.
Near death from asphyxiation has left them with an intense fear of hands near their throat and chest.

Three variations of Thez's outfits during the events of bg3. Baldurian commoner, High Venerator of Oryndoll, and a simple night shirt.

The many layers of the robes are made of cotton dyed red with imitation golden thread trim. The white alb underneath is a small defiance against Oryndoll's color laws enacted by Creed Master Menanok when they became High Priest. All white clothing is strictly banned from the holy city.
Many months worth of pay was saved to afford the commission for this outfit, a gift to themself on the 22nd anniversary of their excommunication from Oryndoll.
The first day it was worn, Taress was abducted from the streets of Baldur's Gate. The long journey through swamps, forests, Underdark caverns, and cursed lands has since ruined the expensive clothing.
The outfit features many hidden loops and drawstrings so that it may fit both their elf and Illithid bodies. It was one of the few outfits within their wardrobe that they could wear comfortably as an Illithid.

The uniform's intricate panels are made from the skins of unwanted sons, while the twin capes are made from dyed spider silk, both traded from neighboring Drow communities.
Each piece has psionic seals woven into the insides of the panels to keep the wearer safe and sound while raiding the surface.
Taress tried their best to repair their old vestments after Xarxes turned on them, but their unskilled hands could only do so much. Still, the pieces are held together enough to be worn if needed, though hopefully this won't be necessary.
Imitating the one you work under has been a tradition upheld by the Oryndoll Venerators for eons. Even though Taress was betrayed by their old master Menanok, the tradition lives on through the dye they use to paint their eyes, fingers, toes, and tentacles with, matching their master's natural markings.
38 hours later, and Thez's ref is finally done. Now I just need to do their pre- and post-game refs, as well as elf Thez and Mescry, since he's the main character of our run even though I never draw him.
