Bookbench is AWAY! ☹️
It's been lovely having it here all summer but now it's away to Aberdeen to join all the other benches at a special exhibition before they are all auctioned off to raise money for Clan Cancer Support.
People and a dog standing beside a white bench created to look like the open pages of a book, covered in reflective glass fish.
We were delighted to meet Shelagh Swanson this morning - the very talented artist behind our amazing #BookBenchTrail
Book Bench in support of Clan Cancer Support. Inspired by the novel The Silver Darlings by Neil Gunn.
Shelagh came to visit with her parents and the very cute Charlie the dog! ❤️
A bench designed to look like an open book. The spine of the book rests on the ground, and the front half of the book is bent over towards the ground to create the bench seat; the rest of the book forms the vertical back of the bench. The visible pages are decorated with pictures of buildings and famous Aberdonians, including singer Annie Lennox.
#BookBenchTrail number two, in Aberdeen city centre.
A sculpture of a bench designed to look like an open book. The spine of the book rests on the ground, and the front half of the book is bent over towards the ground to create the bench seat; the rest of the book forms the vertical back of the bench. The visible pages are decorated with text and pictures of city buildings in yellow, pink, red and navy.
Saw this #BookBench sculpture on my lunchtime #StetWalk today. It's part of a free art exhibit for CLAN Cancer Support charity in NE Scotland ❤️
