There was some progress with #bookscanning : 35 textbooks went through #digitization in total, ≈5000 pages. All copies went to @archive.org. Upload speed was around 50-80 MiB/s with a staging server in San Jose, thanks for fixing S3 infrastructure earlier last year!

When I do #bookscanning #digitization I use either my Plustek OpticBook 4800 or OpticBook A300, which are specifically designed for nondestructive scanning of bound books.
But not *well* designed. I have to run Windows on an old Intel Mac to drive 'em, and there's paper cornflakes on the sensors.
