Brick orange cabled afghan, which the cats have folded and rumpled for the betterment of their sleeping on my bed (gray comforter). The cat in the foreground, head in right corner, is a silver tiger named Frye - the white streak on the head is the bottom of his chin, and white whiskers stretching over to the inside of his ear, because his face is pressed against the comforter. His belly is that pale, warm silver of his belly with his darker stripes very visible on his side, down over his flank and right back foot. Ok so Jonesy is laying down like she flopped her back half over while in Sphinx pose. Head up, so you can see her incredible tortoiseshell and orange tiger coloring. It’s hard to tell in this pic but she has beautiful jade green eyes. She is lying against a line of yarn skeins in blue, green-yellow, and black. Please ignore the light blue bag of lays lightly salted chips in the upper right corner.

A closeup of of the detail of stitches on the brick-orange afghan. The ridges between stitch patterns are caused by their dimension, and that edge will be worked into a 10 row border once I get another skein (🫣) - the other end does have an almost-finished border that I think I probably did about 20 rows of? Oh and of course - that warm gray shape on the lower left hand side is Frye’s upside-down head.
Ok this makes it look way more pink than it is, but anyway, here’s a decent scope size - this is before I started the borders (almost finished one end now). Stitches: Checkerboard Lattice Bobble Lattice Edges: Backwards single crochet V-stitch Cabled edge

Since beginning crochet and learning about bigger hooks, the idea of a big hook and fluffy yarn won't leave my brain. So, as rudimentary as it is, baby's first blanket is a go with 25mm hook and size 7 yarn. #crochet #brochet #crafty
