“— are you still dreaming of riches?” Notes: the title of the fanfic, 까치호랑이 (literally magpie and tiger), refers to a genre in popular joseon dynasty paintings that depicted tigers and magpies. the tigers were there to represent noblemen, while the magpies represented the common men, and these paintings were used as satire of the social hierarchy that existed at the time. i also chose it because magpies are in the same family as crows and ravens, and they’re highly smart. two slow dancers is a mitsky song that has very little to do with the plot lyric-wise. this work is inspired by park chanwook's the handmaiden. trigger warnings: rope bondage, sex work/pornography, voyerism, off page murder, gore, master/servant power imbalance, in-house servitude, homophobia
