Cavorting amongst the clouds and mist, dragons are associated with night, rain, and the yin principle; they symbolize strength, authority, and good fortune. The flaming pearl is the magical "wish-granting jewel" of Chinese Buddhist and Daoist lore. Ringed in fire, the pearl represents yang energy and wisdom.
