Nice rainbow over the mouth of #Islington Tunnel on the #RegentsCanal, viewed from the #CaledonianRoad bridge, on my walk home, a few minutes ago!
Behind the curve, as per but finally had the headspace to read something.
This is world-level dizzyingly brilliant; a truly extraordinary achievement. But part of me wants to slap the author about a bit for knowing *that much* about toffs & their drinking clubs! 😅

📚 Sa lecture donne l’impression vertigineuse d’avancer dans un étroit couloir de cynisme qui paraît, parfois, sans fin.

Thoroughly engaging read. Nearing the end, a couple of scenes in the complex interwoven storylines made me gasp. Great characters & a London I know. V much looking forward to the TV adaptation. #CaledonianRoad #AndrewOHagan #Bestseller
I rarely read 2 books at once, but if I do one has to be non-fiction.
#CaledonianRoad a literary bestseller about class & much else #AndrewOHagan +

«—Es usted la monda.
»Eso es lo que hacen los jóvenes, pensó Campbell. Cuando oyen algo divertido, dicen "qué gracioso", en lugar de reírse. A lo mejor eso era el posmodernismo, al final: nombrar la emoción en lugar de sentirla.»

Nuevo episodio de #DonQuijoteGonzo; se habla de la novela y #DemonCopperhead, #CaledonianRoad e #InMemoriam, y Don Quijote y Sancho discuten (qué raro 🙂):
Great follow-up to reading the stupendous #CaledonianRoad by Andrew O'Hagan, his BBC Sounds episode on Take 4 books. #stateofthenation #litfic www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

I’m currently reading a book that is 750 pages long, which is ridiculously long for a novel, but the thing is I am LOVING it and I’m at page 700 and don’t want it to end.
(The book is #CaledonianRoad by Andrew O’Hagan)
Is there anything much nicer than starting on a new book?
Having just finished #CaledonianRoad I was looking forward to starting
@richardcoles.bsky.social latest book.
Got settled in bed and by second sentence, realised I had read it.
The colour of the cover of 2nd and 3rd in series way too similar!
Cover of Caledonian Road by Andrew O'Hagan, the award-winning author of Mayflies
Book 4 #caledonianroad #andrewohagan An incredible State of the Nation novel detailing the downfall of celebrity writer Campbell Flynn and the effects on those around him, from the aristocracy and oligarchs to street gangs and human traffickers. Superb. #BookRecommendations
Always a thrill to have new #books to read via the lovely online book emporium that is @bigbeardedbookseller.com #scuttlerscove by David Barnett and #caledonianroad by Andrew O'Hagan.
Post rugby cwtch with felines on the sofa coming up.
A reading marathon! A big bold book with a huge cast of flawed people, multiple stories and themes based mainly around Kings Cross and Islington. Families, class, corruption, crime, politics and much more..... #CaledonianRoad by #AndreaO'Hagan #BookSky💙📚
Well my plan to read more and be on SM less has got off to a good start finished #CaledonianRoad and started #SevenDeadlySins by Guy Leschziner loving it so far #Booksky
I loved #SmallBombatDimperley by @lissakevans.bsky.social which was funny, tender & the period setting beautifully described. I was unsettled by #CaledonianRoad, Andrew O’Hagan, which I will reread - well written, depressing, deep, a London I have heard of but don’t recognise.
I am confident that ‘Caledonian Road’ will be adapted for TV screens very soon. Andrew O’Hagan’s confection of events involving unpleasant metropolitans and aristos is a readable excursion into a plausible fictional world centred on London N1, flavoured with contemporary references. #caledonianroad
Such a treat to hear Andrew O’Hagan discussing #CaledonianRoad at @BackstoryLdn. But the real joy was the wider discussion about London, knitting, Drill, and writing on his shirt. Like his stories, Andrew is full of insight, humour, generosity, and a great love for people.
