Mantarochen – Cut My Brainhair | itseleven-records MANTAROCHEN sind erneut aus den Fluten aufgetaucht und lassen eine neue Kassette an Land spülen. Die Leipziger setzen den Weg nach ihrer Debüt-7inch noch fokussierter fort. „Cut My Brainhair“ bietet sieben Smasher plus Intro. Die Rhythmusmaschine pumpt weiterhin gradlinig, die verflangerte Gitarre schneidet sich aus dem Trockeneisnebel und legt sich aufs wohlig-warme Bass-Wasserbett. Direkt auf die Frontallappen zielt wieder dieser verdammt coldwavige „deadpan“-Gesang. Die synthetischen Flächen und Effekte sind sowieso in der Klangwelt von MANTAROCHEN sehr präsent und runden den Eindruck ab, dass es sich einfach um einen verschollenen Schatz aus den frühen 80ern handeln muss.
