Catatumbo lightning is a phenomenon at Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela, where lightning has been flashing 28 times an hour, 160 to 300 nights a year, for at least the last 200 years. It's the highest density of lightning anywhere on the planet, and a major producer of ozone.
