He was obsessed with writing the perfect song. This was complicated by his not knowing what that would sound like, but he was sure he would know it when he heard it. He had a talent for generating music - never stuck for the next note - so he decided to approach the problem scientifically. After a period of excessive ornamentation and complexity he decided to take a minimalist approach. He worked, worked, worked on honing his technique until he could create a catchy tune with a single note, break a heart with nothing but a pause. Then, finally, he achieved silence. #BubbleDrabbles
