Horizontal bar chat showing multiple-choice responses from respondents on the use of, exposure to, and attitude towards generative AI. 85% of respondents never use generative AI in their work, whereas 88% never use image generative AI. 45% of respondents encounter AI-generated images in their practice daily, while 25% do weekly, and 6% never encounter it. The vast majority of respondents dislike generative AI (99%), with 92% expressing a strong dislike.

How does AI impact our critical thinking? What's AI's actual impact on people's critical thinking performance? AI doesn’t inherently help or harm critical thinking — it depends on time constraints.

Montréal HCI is headed to sunny Barcelona for #CHI2026! ☀️ We’re presenting two exciting, rather unique papers and joining two workshops. Details below! 🧵 1/5

Text says that participants have to come up with five ideas in 1-3 keywords and write elaborations in one sentence each. Text says that in this Phase 2, participants were asked: Did you work on this? Source of idea? Source of elaboration? Further text says that they were also asked this for unseen items (so-called distractors). Can you remember which ideas & sentences were your own and which were generated with AI?

In a controlled study (n=184), we found that AI use significantly reduces the accuracy of content attribution after one week.
