I missed #WildflowerHour but here are some spring blossoms from Conamara anyway! Lesser celandine (grán arcáin), blackthorn (draighean), violet (common dog-?) (fanaigse?) and primrose (sabhaircín)

I’m no photographer but here are my contributions to #wildflowerhour of the Wildflower Challenge. See in Red Rock Canyon yesterday.

A common bluebell (Hyacinthoides non scripta) - I think. I was too busy collecting wild garlic. I saw this and snapped a quick photo, but didn’t look at the pollen or leaves. Not Spanish, but hybrid is possible? There are both Spanish and common in the woods. A photograph of the flowers of the bluebell. They are purple and bell shaped, drooping down. A few at the top of the stem have not opened yet. Background is blurred vegetation, including that wild garlic I was collecting!

A black and white photograph of wild garlic flowers. They are very white against a dark background. Five are open, with their six petals and stamen stretching outwards. The rest are still closed, waiting for their time to shine. These little flowers are so beautiful seen against the deep green of their leaves. A lovely sight in the woods this time of year. Allium ursinum.

These are celandines cascading down a bank side towards a river. The woods they are in are private but you can see them from the road. #WildFlowerHour
