A wintry trip into Chicago's Loop, over the Chicago River, every unsalted surface covered in a thick layer of snow. The streets themselves are clear, some cars drive back and forth. The river is cold but unfrozen, the skyline is the best created by man, still.
Crossing a train junction in The Loop, with several inches of snow covering all tracks leaving only the rails exposed. A vanishing point toward the middle of the frame leads your eyes toward the eastern end of The Loop, with walls of skyscrapers on either side.
The Bean is chilly, with a flatcap of snow on top, shining despite that with some blue skies at my back. The skyline behind the sculpture is brick and bold and beautiful. A couple dozen or so bundled up folks mill about the plaza.
Same Bean, different angle, with an ice skating rink in front of it at ground level. A handful of people skate away, all ground is covered by freshly fallen and plowed snow. The sky is mostly cloudy with some patches of blue peeking through.
