#ChipNomad v0.1.0b is out! All music making and sound design feature are complete now.
ChipNomad is an LSDJ-style #chiptune tracker for handheld consoles and desktops. Currently supports AY-3-8910/YM2149F chips.

*PLATFORM*: Linux x86_64 package for Linux desktops and Steam Deck - Vortex Tracker 2 tracks (.vt2) import (by Pator) - Gamepad support for desktop builds - Support QWERTZ and QWERTY keyboard layouts for desktop builds (by koppi) - Support for 2x and 3x AY/YM chips - Linear pitch option (pitch tables are defined in cents) - SNG FX to jump between song positions - HOP FX now supports conditional loops both in Tables and Phrases - ARP should work with octaves of any size, not just 12 notes - *BREAKING CHANGE*: PIT now sets offset in semitones. New FIN command sets fine pitch offset - Schematic waveform display - Mute/solo tracks (B + Select/Start on Song screen. - ADSR volume envelope for AY instruments - Tables logic - Zero values in groove let you skip phrase rows which can be used for time signatures different from 4/4 - Common FX: TIC, TBX, THO, HOP (tables only), PBN, PIT, TBL, OFF, KIL, DEL, RET, PSL, PVB, GRV, GGR - AY-specific FX: AYM, NOI, NOA, ERT, ENT, EPT, EPL, EPH, EBN, ESL, EVB - FX hints at Phrase and Table screens
#ChipNomad devlog for the past week. Basically, I completed everything for playback. Only a few not critical FX are left (ARP and ARC for arpeggios; HOP to jump in song). I'm going to release the first alpha version this Thursday and accompany it with a video devlog.

- Updated tracker features doc with the finalized approach to instruments and tables. - Implemented common navigation and editing functionality for spreadsheet-like screens (Song, Chain, Phrase, Table). - Main editing functionality of the Song and Chain screens. - Auto-save current project on exit and auto-load it on launch. - Pitch table generator for AY/YM chips. - It is now possible to use scales different from 12TET with custom note names.

April 6, 2025 - Built core audio and graphics libraries - Architecture now allows to port ChipNomad to any platform that can display 40x20 characters in color, play stereo 16-bit audio, and has at least 8 buttons. - Wrote the first draft of tracker features - Implemented navigation between tracker screens - Started implementing Song screen
