I remember my hopes and fears of 2000.

Hope for an enlightened equitable society: LGBT+, women and indigenous people are now "allowed" if not equal. Progress, more needed.

Democracy as it is practiced is failing, short term, political and lobbied. To be reinvented! #citizenassemblies would do.

I believe we need to rise above politics and parties, organise #citizenassemblies and adapt that is downsize and wean ourselves of fossil fuels within #planetaryboundaries

Yes, let's create an ideal #democracy. I really like the stories of #citizenassemblies. Groups of people statistically selected (like a jury) are given a social issue and they solve it in unanimity for the highest good. Politics implements the recommendations.
