Even as they were fighting the cubs. Damn. I was scratching my head trying to think of an animal matching the description. But they were babies.

The way the narrative slowed down after Aspenbreeze death allowed for the emotions of the characters to feel so real. Especially with how each character had their own way to react and grieve.
