If you are someone's health care decision maker, it is your job to make decisions for them in accordance with what they would want if they had the capacity to make those decisions for themselves. It's not to do what you want for the patient if those things differ. #CodeStatus #EndOfLifeCare #HAPC
This Cohort Study by @Michael_Detsky et al revealed that physicians often failed to document the goals/priorities of their pts when making treatment recs. Lots of room to improve in documenting #CodeStatus discussions and recommendations.
