You know what came to mind these days? #CoffeeScript. A language that brought some elegance of #Ruby to #JavaScript, and made the DX of writing front end code WAY better. I miss it.
I honestly think CS, as a language, did great, and deserved to be preserved and reside amongst us till these days.

There were a few efforts with things like #TypeScript, #CoffeeScript and #Dart but they all had the same issues. I don't know how much effort Google put into trying to make Dart part of their browser but I think the anti-trust suit against Microsoft probably put them off.

So the fun in our #RubyOnRails app continues. Figured out that we're still running on #CoffeeScript v1 instead of v2, which explains the linter throwing errors.
This app is older than most people think, and the upgrade path is getting wider and wider...
