After the events of Super Mario Galaxy 2, princess Rosalina decided to organize a party at the Comet observatory to celebrate the Mario brothers' victory over Bowser and the rescue of princess Peach. Thanks to her magic and the help of her Lumas in organizing the preparations, everything went smoothly and it took less than 20 minutes to get everything ready. After this formality, Rosalina was curious to experience being reduced to a DiD to find out what it felt like to be in her friend Peach's shoes, so she asked some of her Lumas to tie her up and gag her, suspending her more than 2 meters above the ground to recreate the perilous sensation Peach felt in Super Mario RPG : The legend of 7 stars. Once she was in her prisoner's state, Rosalina tried to relax while contemplating the cosmos.

Alternate version of Super Mario Galaxy 2 where Bowser decided to neutralize Rosalina to prevent her from helping the Mario brothers in their quest, he sent his son and the Koopaling Roy Koopa equipped with scepters covered in black magic to inhibit Rosalina's cosmic powers, then hypnotized her pet Lumas. Once in the grip of the black magic, the Lumas neutralized their adoptive mother by tying her up after reading a book on the art of bondage well hidden in a section of the Comet Observatory library. Poor Rosalina is now firmly bound in grey tape which is so effective that it's impossible for her to free herself, not to mention the OTM-gag reinforced with black magic, which is as effective as a band of tape wrapped around the head.

Unfortunately, the fiesta turned out badly and the trio was sequestered in a section of the observatory by Bowser and helped the Koopalings while waiting for Bowser to come on board.
