A coral-like ceramic comet sculpture which is currently unfired clay. There are lots of textural and sculptural motifs, including rosette craters, tiny flowers and even smaller pits. The tail of the comet is made of flame-like or claw-like streamers.

Comets are usually named after whomever discovered them, but this one is named after IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Telescope.) It was discovered in photos taken by the telescope.

A mini coral comet sculpture, currently raw, unfired clay. There are short, claw-like flames forming the tail and the body has a cluster of rosette-like craters, with gaps filled with tiny craters. The main surface has a sponge texture.
