The COY (Cub of year) was preparing for its first hibernation after knowing the outside world. It had just finished sniffing the branch, a deep throaty inhale, and the resulting sneeze blasted its head around like a Hero’s engine. Picture shows the bear staring into the camera lens with what almost looks like embarrassment (if bears could feel such things, they have to, right? They poo in the woods.) Ears outstretched into an almost level plane off the top of the head. Water droplets hang in the air.
This one of a Black Bear COY that had just sneezed has always cracked me up but there was something I liked about it that I couldn’t figure out. It hit me today: The old Tom Cruise flick ‘Legend’.
