There are prints of this available alongside the original, and I would love to write more about it, but right now I'm so exhausted from having my studio open all weekend that I'm gonna put my phone down as soon as this is posted and fall asleep on the sofa.

A heart made of straw, tied with red ribbon. I need to tidy the ribbons up so that they hang better!
This is a countryman’s favour, which young men would have worn to hiring fairs in Victorian times. They’d attach something to it to denote the type of work they were looking for, in this case sheep’s wool for a shepherd.
This is a Suffolk lantern, a sort of tiny hanging basket. It’s a bit scruffy because (a) I’m a beginner to corn-dolly making & this is the first one I’ve made, & (b) because the straw will shrink slightly as it dries out, I have to leave it overnight before chopping the ends off.
I had a lovely day making #CornDollies at @butserancientfarm.co.uk today. I’ve done a couple of #CornDolly workshops there before, they’re always so much fun! It’s a red-listed craft & is in danger of dying out. My ancestors were from #Suffolk, so I was thrilled to find a Suffolk piece to make!
