The #CostumeCouture: 60 Years of #CosProp exhibit at the #FashionTextileMusem was delicious! I’m so happy I made it to London to see it before it ended.
Pictured here:
1. “A Room with a View (1985)
2. “Victoria” (2016-2019)
3. “Sense and Sensibility” (1995)
4. “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein” (1994)
A little over a week ago I was overjoyed to see the fabulous #Cosprop exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. It was like seeing old friends! Why hello Monsieur #Poirot! And hello #ElizabethBennet and #MrDarcy! What a delight ❤️ So many detailed & beautifully executed pieces.

What a pleasure it was to visit the exhibition celebrating the work of John Bright and #cosprop in the #fashiontextilemuseum yesterday. The details in their costumes are always a joy and seeing them at such close quarters too @falmouthuniversity.bsky.social #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

This fancy dress from our collection is presumably based on this ‚Pierrette‘ fashion plate from January 1884 ‚Der Bazar‘ that was also featured in ‚La Mode Illustrée‘ as ‚Folie‘ (Folly). #1880sfancydress #historyofdress #costumehistory #victorianfancydress #fancydressinspiration #cosprop
Thanks for sharing, it was lovely to see this concept used recently by the designer Alex Byrne on her fabulous production of Emma, we made several outfits at #cosprop for the show that made use of this inspiration from our collection.
