And not too long after that, spotted our first seal chilling on an ice floe! This was a young crabeater seal, surrounded by Antarctic terns flying about overhead

This Crabeater seal has suffered some sort of injury, although to my untrained eyes it doesn’t look terribly severe. BTW they don’t eat crabs, they eat krill. #seal #crabeaterseal #antarctica
