Embroidered tapestry in progress. Appropriately the bottom fifth is complete. There is a border of pink roses and in the centre a garland of larger roses. The work has just reached the point where two purple tentacles can be seen emerging from the direction of the centre and that the inside edge of the central rose garland is blue with reflected light. Many coloured in use threads are organised extending up over the printed design and the hand drawn additions.

In other news the birthday gifts to the eldest fitted!

Detail from an embroidered tapestry, only the first ten centimetres or so is complete. There is a border of pink roses and green leaves. A larger rose towards the centre can be seen half complete and beside it a purple tentacle curls round and under some leaves close to a crack in the cream background, which reveals darkness with some small gold sparkles.

The first tentacle begins to emerge..!

The edge of a tapestry in progress, about eight or nine rows are complete at the bottom. The colours are pink flowers, green leaves and a cream background. Further up the tapestry you can see where the pattern has been modified to include monstrous tentacles.

Well I have learned a LOT about tapestry today- another of my eBay rescues. Thankfully I don’t think the errors are too obvious, at least not too obvious to give to my daughter who will not be discerning!
