Being a Paper Hoarder | Collage week 50 2025 I have created a lot of collages over the years, and in 2025 I created 365 new artworks. I am very proud of this fact, and happy to have reached my goal before the year ended even though I have 2 more posts of collages to share on the blog because the days run out to blog them. The Nine Patch | Collage week 45 Playing around with squares in grids is a fun collage exercise. The grid can be glued down in endless different ways, and it's the artists perogative to decide what, when and how to go about each one. It's really fun to make this kind of art, but not easy. Finding a balance takes a bit of fiddling around with the squares, but to me its satisafctory to see them coming together.

Have you ever made a grid collage? It's such is a fun collage exercise / concept, and I love playing around with it! A grid can be glued down in endless different ways...

The World’s Sweetest Needle book – process videos I wanted to sew my own version of Ann Wood's free sewing pattern World's Sweetest Needle book. It took a while, but I am stubborn. I finished it, then I photographed it, then I edited three videos of the process of me creating the needle book, the World's Sweetest Needle book as she called it. Well, two, because in the first one is connected but not really in the series.

Say hello with a mini painting / postcard Hej friend, how are you doing? I hope you are having a lovely day. Hej is Swedish and it means "hi", or hello. It's the greeting I decided to go with on a DIY Postcards last year, along with a girl with purple hair that I painted. She is inspired by several other similar girls made in different art journals and doodle books over the years, and it was fun working on her on a mixed media postcard for the postcard swap.

Ceramic Cat Collages | Week 31 2025 From an article about vintage ceramic cats I cut out seven different cat figurine images to use in my collagework. I love the juxtaposition of using scraps from my stash and images of other art forms or artist's expressions. It feels like a collaboration with them but also like a commentary or celebration of other artists grateness. Maybe even like a conversation, unknown to them and maybeonly audible to me, where I get to express myself to/through their art.

Sometimes it is winter and we slow down and rest, sometimes it is spring and everything feels new and exciting. Yay – At number 200 of 365 | Collage week 29 An angry dog, girls playing together, a goose, free and captured birds, death and silver colored fishes are the main characters in today's story, if there is one. Maybe these collages are just loosely held together because they fit into a "week's everyday" together, like short stories in a book but by the same author (artist). My brain spins with stories as I look at them, but I won't bore you with them, I'll just ask you to take a look and let me know if you find stories and tales in artwork too.

Gazing through the Camera Lens | Collage week 21 I once bought a big stack of vintage magazines, mostly from the 1940s and 50s. They've been gathering dust in my studio for far too long now, so I have started to cut them up. I don't enjoy cutting them up because it makes me feel sad to destroy these old magazines that have been laying pristine in a pile for decades.

The Phantom Tribute | 365 Collage week 17 Did you ever read the comic strip The Phantom when you were a kid? I did. I mean, I read it when I was a bit older, early teen maybe, and often found vintage magazines in a cottage that we rented a few summers. Him and Tarzan were my favorites. I loved the different sayings about him, and all the adventures and the fact that he lived in Africa.

Spotted Photo Theme June: Photo Treassures Cameras are our treassures, don't you agree? To me photography is one of the greatest joys in life, the savior of our time. I have been photographing since I was a kid and inherited my mom's first point-and-shoot camera. It was a Instamatic I think, with room for a disposable flash that you put in to use once or maybe twice, I don't remember.

Today I'll let this camera represent my love of family, heirlooms, photography, memory keeping, documenting and all things vintage and wonderful.

Art Journal Prep: a color explosion on the page As a birthday present for you, since April is the big birthday month around here - I shared a Free Mixed Media Worskhop here on the blog (as well as announcing the spring swap that you can sign up to right now). The workshop idea is all about how to prepare an altered book to use as an Art Journal. It contains four videos, which felt like a lot.
