Excerpt from "Folie à Deux": There is no heat in the Abyss. Dainsleif isn’t cold, but the blue-white torchlight that flickers just out of reach produces no energy. He slips his arm through the bars just to check. He had almost forgotten the mundane absurdity of this place that shouldn’t exist. There is pain in the Abyss, though. He feels it in the pulsing of the golden rings around his limbs that suppress his power. He is used to the Abyssal rot that gnaws at him constantly, but this is different. This power is neither Abyssal nor elemental nor even Celestial. It feels like Aether.
