“Oh, no. Oh hell no.” Haruichi tilts his head quizzically at Sachiko, who’s staring at the impulse rack shelf of the grocery store. Turning to look, he scans the items, seeing nothing at first but candy, magazines, and upcoming holiday decorations… Oh. The label on the shelf under a handful of glass Christmas tree ornaments reads In-House Wares with Threshold and lists the price. This part is not the issue; the glass ornaments are done in beautiful swirls of color, with a handle at the bottom for the base of the tree, and they’re perfectly sized to be anal plugs.

“What’s going on?” Kuramochi asks, sidling over to sling his arm around Sachiko. When he catches sight of the ornaments, however, he starts laughing uncontrollably, enough to catch the attention of Umemiya, Carlos, and Eijun nearby. Sachiko herself starts to laugh as well as they walk over, and she and Kuramochi are barely holding each other up as they gasp for air. “Seriously?” Umemiya starts, trying to hold back his own laughter and ultimately failing. “They need to stop making that shit hole-sized.” This sets off another round of laughter, of course, and Eijun yelling something about decorum in public places. Haruichi tries not to notice the people around them staring.

“I’ll cross that Threshold for a pretty girl,” Sachiko snorts, sending Kuramochi a sly glance that makes them dissolve into giggles again and weakly high five each other. Haruichi drags a hand down his face, trying not to laugh himself. Catching the eye of an older woman near them, he says loudly, “I’m sorry, miss, I don’t know them, actually.” “You’re wearing the same uniform as us,” Carlos points out, practically holding a weak-kneed Umemiya up at this point. Haruichi ignores him and swats away Eijun trying to cover his eyes, shaking his head as Sachiko starts to place bets on the nature their medical calls for the next couple shifts. Fondly, these utter fucking idiots.
