Brexit the 'stupidest thing any country has ever done' Billionaire Michael Bloomberg has told an audience in Dublin that Brexit was the single stupidest thing any country has ever done, adding that "it's hard to believe how they did it."

Happy #DanHannanDay to you! Yeh, this thread shows how he's really not been right on a lot of things, and is really not someone to be trusted. I suppose that when Gove sneered that we shouldn't listen to experts, he was telling us to listen to the likes of this clown!

Happy #DanHannanDay! Amidst all the justified poking fun at his terrible Brexit predictions, it’s worth bearing in mind that Brexit has made us all poorer as this article shows.

It's 24 June, 2025, and Britain is
marking its annual Independence
Day celebration. As the fireworks
stream through the summer sky, still
not quite dark, we wonder why it
took us so long to leave. The years
that followed the 2016 referendum
didn't just reinvigorate our economy.
our democracy and our liberty. They
improved relations with our
neighbours.

The United Kingdom is now the
region's foremost knowledge-based
economy. We lead the world in
biotech, law, education, the audio-
visual sector, financial services and
software. New industries, from 3D
printing to driverless cars, have
sprung up around the country. Older
industries, too, have revived as
energy prices have fallen back to
global levels: steel, cement, pape

Perhaps the greatest benefit, though,

is not easy to quantify. Britain has

recovered its self-belief. As we left

the EU, we straightened our backs, looked about us, and realised that we were still a nation to be reckoned with: the world's fifth economy and fourth military power, one of five members on the UN Security Council and a leading member of the G7 and the Commonwealth. We recalled, too, that we were the world's leading exporter of soft power; that our language was the most widely studied on Earth; that we were linked

by kinship and migration to every

continent and archipelago Wе си

Happy Dan Hannan day! I hope you enjoy our tremendous new independence, refreshed trade and industry, and improved relations with our neighbours! #DanHannanDay

Happy #DanHannanDay everyone. Who else has 3D printed a statue celebrating the workers of our world-leading biotech industry? I've put it next to my collection of British ceramics.

To celebrate #DanHannanDay, the great man has a role similar to Santa where he is tasked with delivering British jam to every household in the UK. Sadly, he has never completed this task as either the jam (which is made in China) is stuck in customs, or Dan gets lost after 15 minutes.
