Re-watching demos from
#dcldn24, what Tor was saying last week is sinking in. Journeys are not just a natural language test definition on top of Espresso. But also, the AI is LOOKING 👀 at the UI as you, a human, would for correct behaviors. That's… so powerful.

So fortunate that we got to chat with Matthew McCullough, VP, Android Developer and Seang Chau, who recently became VP and GM of Android, last week right before #dcldn24 and all #TheAndroidShow announcements. (I was definitely more than a little nervous talking to Seang for the first time.)
Had an absolute blast presenting at Droidcon London 2024!
Thank you all for coming to my dumb-ass talk!
Hopefully see you next year! <3

I have updated the repository's README with instructions on how to navigate the code based on the path I took during my talk. While I didn't do a complete transcription of my presentation, I hope that if you watched it, you will be able to follow the steps outlined.

Last talk of the year done & dusted 💪
Thank you #dcldn24 once again, it's always so fun, inspiring, and packed with learning ✨ Grateful to reconnect with amazing folks from the community, and all the chats and insights ❤️🙏
Thank you for those that beared through my #dcldn24 TED talk 🫡 For those curious on the technical details of Jewel, check out the latest ADB podcast below!
Got request during #dcldn24 to allow selecting/copying text in the Confetti app and just merged changes now to support that....was very straightforward to implement using Compose's SelectionContainer. This is Compose Multiplatform based screen btw that's shared between the Android and iOS clients.
Was an amazing experience attending Droidcon London. Great talks and lots of interesting conversations with folks at the conference. Of course was happy to see ever increasing popularity of KMP (again being endorsed by Google folks there) and more awareness and interest in CMP. #dcldn24
Slides are live for my talk on Navigation with Kotlin/Compose Multiplatform! #dcldn24 ashdavies.dev/talks/naviga...
The happy/strained smile of almost missing your talk b/c the line you've been riding had a fire further up but your husband (♥️ @cephus.bsky.social) rescues you both w/ a timely Uber. I apologize to everyone for talking so fast, starting 10 minutes kate, + having too much I wanted to share. #dcldn24
#dcldn24 👻🎃
Hey, major delays on Northern line. Im probably late for talk. Trying to get a ride. #dcldn24
Despite stressing beforehand I really enjoyed doing my talk on what's new in android 15 security #dcldn24. Very grateful for the opportunity!

@kpgalligan.bsky.social pitching... This place at length on the day 2 keynote of #dcldn24
Swing by the Google Booth tomorrow between 3:30 and 5:20 pm to say hi and ask me your burning #KMP questions! 👋
#dcldn24 #AndroidDev
Tomorrow’s a big day for Touchlab at #dcldn24! Catch @kpgalligan.bsky.social at his keynote “The Future of Android, Kotlin, & Everything” at 9:20a GMT. He also lead’s a roundtable on the “Challenges & Opportunities of #KotlinMultiplatform & #ComposeMultiplatform in production” at 11:15a GMT!
If you're at #dcldn24 and have questions about KMP, find @marcellogalhardo.dev at the Google booth on Friday, November 1. #AndroidDev
Rebecca Gutteridge, taking about Glance + hopefully a better future for building widgets but as always, the team is looking for feedback on pain points, which is never few when it comes to widgets. Perhaps nature of the beast but feedback + use cases are important to tame it. #AndroidDev #dcldn24
#AskAndroid the new Gemini testing functionality looks cool!
Will we be able to inspect + check in the Espresso code that it generates in order to verify that the test is going what we think it should? #dcldn24
As someone who started with UI testing late in their Android life and feels often intimidated, I am so excited by this. I'll have no excuse not to test as I can focus on defining tests rather than understanding all the tooling. #AndroidDev #dcldn24
The one and only @tornorbye.bsky.social doing his demo magic with productivity tools from Gemini. Testing Journeys, which let us define a test via natural language, seek to help us get past the struggle of remembering Espresso syntax so we can just start testing. #AndroidDev #dcldn24
On #TheAndroidShow, Clara Bayarri is demoing how easy it can be to add delightful to our apps with animations like the Shared Element Transition. #AndroidDev #dcldn24
#AndroidDev will have more and more frequent releases. 2025 will see a Q2 major release and a Q4 minor release. Major Release= SDK Releases as we've had in the past which will include that behavior changes that require compatibility testing. #dcldn24
And here is Matthew McCullough, VP, Android Developer at Google getting ready to take the stage for #TheAndroidShow #dcldn24 #AndroidDev
Matthew was in Milan at the time of the interview but here we are in person enjoying a talk from the front row of #dcldn24. Thank you so much for your time Matthew and all your enthusiasm and passion for Android. #AndroidDev
