“ANIMA” (Spirit), 16” x 20” x 1.5” oil on panel (The Latin Series). This painting was created to memorialize the passing of my favorite aunt with her ceramic birds and her sewing scissors. I imagined her spirit still singing through these little birds while the sewing scissors marked her separation from my life. The iris was the pride of her garden and I use it to symbolize her perennial love.
