Shortly after sunrise at a large pond. The sun is reflecting in the water and everything is touched with a golden glow, most likely due to many wildfires up in the mountains.
Morning walk, I arrived just before the sun broke the trees in the horizon. So many photos! This was my favorite, at least for the moment. #DeltaPondsEugene

Noontime walk. Late again today -- sometimes, life gets in the way. Hot and muggy, but otherwise nice. This ramp leads to a nice overlook, but there was almost no water left, just mud and lilypads. #DeltaPondsEugene

Pond largely overgrown with lily pads, but some clearing. Hard to see but there are a few Canada geese out there, also a heron off to the right who didn't make it into the frame. In the background, trees are starting to turn fall colors, with one that's leaves have all turned.
Noontime walk. A little late for me, but I felt the urge even though I'd already logged almost 5000 steps this morning running errands. Currently at 6642. Beautiful day out there. Not too hot, but lots of sunshine. #DeltaPondsEugene

Stretching the limits of my phone zoom, but it's unusual to see a group of egrets feeding out there, even at a distance.

Lots of tiny wildflowers here, prettier to look at in person than to photograph. Varying kinds of grasses, with shadowy areas as well as hints of white and yellow flowers, and even a tinge of purple.
Morning walk -- hours ago! Bright and sunny at 7:30am, but a nice cool breeze to keep it comfortable. My phone is now literally a 'point and shoot' camera, which brings lots of surprise photos once I get home. A couple weren't too bad. Lots of tiny wildflowers out there. #DeltaPondsEugene
I startled this egret at a little footbridge early one morning. He startled ME as he flew from under the bridge to this nearby branch, where he watched me warily as I passed by. Not the best photo -- it was quick in case he flew away -- but a great memory.
The blue hour before sunrise. I walked to the ponds very early one morning several years ago and spotted this heron roosting overnight, presumably, on a low tree branch.

Barely sunrise, with everything except the risen sun still in the shadows.
Sunlight hitting the trees along the banks of the pond. The osprey nest (on the pole, upper right) had one very vocal chick, calling for breakfast. No adult in sight. This pair normally raises 3 healthy fledglings, but this year I've only seen one at a time, and rarely see an adult at the nest, though I saw one flying in a few days ago. It's making me wonder if one was injured, or killed, so the other is doing all the hunting and feeding. I hope not, but generally I see both adults at the nest during the season.

Large tree with many branches, set among some greenery with white flowers, alongside a trail. The morning sun is lighting up one edge of the trunk and random other areas.
Most of the trees alongside the trail have these wire cage protectors. The trees are older than the park, and I'm not sure what they are protected from (beavers, maybe?). The cages make some interesting patterns in the early morning sun, with vines and mosses highlighted.
