Time for Grandpa to go to a dementia care facility. I saw this with my papa (I was one of his care-givers). This is my future too, sadly.

When I was a kid, my dad bought me a budgie that couldn't fly.
I loved him. I made a little cart with a yolk and he used to run around the house with it.
He behaved very much like a cat.

Yesterday my Momma lost her fight with dementia. Such a beautiful and strong woman reduced to a shell of her former self. Wherever she may be now I know she is whole again. Feeling extra grateful for her today. #dementiasucks

Tonight, 4m after we hung up, she called back and left a saying she was just calling to see what I was up to.

But now she’s gone 25m without calling. So, maybe this is progress? I dunno.

My mom had her grandmother's Christmas Cactus. When my grandpa was a little boy, it was his job to water it.
When mom passed, none of us could take it, so we gave it to the minister that was her next door neighbour.

Our school librarian has an iguana named Dino.
I got to take care of him for a summer. I loved him.
A few years later some teenagers broke into our school and Dino was found frozen on the window sill outside. 😥

I go to my parents’ house to help my stepdad get my mom up every morning and put her to bed every evening and sweet Boo is there to greet me each time. Last night she popped out through the morning glories and made me jump. 😹. I love this cat so much. 🥰 #puddincats #caturday #cats #dementiasucks
