What if stick figure rail shooter flash game from 2006 was an FPS where you can actually move and it's a bit Killer 7.
That's basically what 10Hit is and it's radical. It's also kind of clunky but still radical.

I bought the game after playing the demo if that indicates the quality/how impressed I was with the game. Honestly hope for a sequel/more from this developer. #indiegame #demoreview
Our Metal Bowl is kind of an avenue of the developer's best hat trick puzzles. There's QR codes, steam page puzzle solutions, FMV, environmental storytelling the works. Stapled onto a basic, but effective, action combat system. Worth checking out, especially for that price.

I actually played a good amount of one of those Princess Daughter Raising sims (thanks Gainax for this genre). I am easily convinced to play pretty games, but this game is also heavily unhinged. Your daughter is a sociopath, you can make drugs, perfect.

Spellblade: Vengeance of the Witch Sisters. Has absolutely NO presence online, I think, which is a shame cuz this might be the most interesting implementation of CRPG/TTRPG rules to RPGM. More thoughts here: steamcommunity.com/app/4408920/...

Chronicles of Lussaria. I think this is one of the best SRPG Engine games I've ever tried. Extremely tight and clever map design, very charming battle graphics, interesting plot. Adding SRW-like skills onto the playfield works perfectly, adjusting growth rate is cool, game is sick. #demoreview
Solar Voltage is a fantastic send up to the GBA iso-platformer genre by playing and looking a lot better than any of them. Looks simple at first but has a lot of clever secrets. Character designs are charming.

New month new demos. I recommend checking out Stiff Neck, a Chinese VN where you play a cop with a lot of problems. For a game from China the translation is REALLY good and the story deals with heavier themes on modern society.
The style is really pretty.

Ratdoodle Adventure - Speaking of 3D plats. I'm easily swayed by claymation, and this one had a weird suite of controls. Mostly the hover and homing attack with mariotype controls.
Really cute, love the cutscenes. There's a surprising amount. Tightly made levels, too.

Gunboat God. Sort of a boat action platformer. Feels good, sounds good, looks good, but I find myself burning out on the closed walls gameplay style early on. I feel like they went quantity over quality with the level design.

Tumor Necrosis Factor:// amen
...Fucking rules. Vibes are sick, music is DnB (sick), gore is reasonable for my squeamish ass, designs are evocative and interesting, gameplay is also fun (weakpoints galore!)
Can't say anything bad, Day1 buy.
I got bummed out today with some demos. Generated assets. Some other games I didn't vibe with.
But then I got hit with goofy Polish tactics store.steampowered.com/app/3852180/...
And then suddenly things were better. Lighthearted, cool moves, straightforward no 4X layer. It's great!

I played some Agent 64: Spies Never Die for the playtest. Very fun. I only played a little bit of that Perfect Dark remaster on Xbox but this reminded me more of that than straight up Goldeneye (which might just be due to intro missions).
I actually did a par time run even!

Spend about an hour or two on Legends of Amberland III.
The originals never felt like my kind of thing. Very simple, not much narrative. I think this one has a right balance of simplifications meets character building and secrets and questing.

I had a really fun time with this demo. Really feels like a worthy sequel to Rayman Redemption and just a general touchstone of this kind of slower paced collecting focused platformer.
I already really enjoy the lackadaisical MC.

Played the demo to this yesterday. Surprised how much I enjoyed it, reminded me of Valkyria Chronicles but focused on stealth. The story was cute, I'm interested to see how the character dynamics turn out with that relationship system.
One thing I'd love is voice acting. #demoreview

Out of all the demos I've tried during the last Steam Next Fest (and the demos I've tried since), I still think that Mina The Hollower was my favourite out of the bunch. Definitely looking forward to the full game, out (hopefully) in Halloween. #indiegames #SteamNextFest #demoreview
While I was digging through Steam's demo page, I saw Streetdog BMX, I downloaded its demo and found it was a pretty solidly made proof of concept that had a lot of potential, so I made a quick video about it. #indiegames #demoreview
Oh hey, there's a new puzzle game from (most of the former) Zachtronics team. It's called Kaizen: A Factory Story, and I've played through the demo and whipped up this video about it: #indiegames #SteamNextFest #demoreview

I really liked Super Woden GP 2, so I was excited to hear that the team behind that is making a rally focused spin-off called Super Woden: Rally Edge . I've played through the demo a couple of times, and here's my thoughts: #indiegames #demoreview #SteamNextFest

Not every demo I played in the Steam Next Fest was a winner, and I thought Tamashika had a very fatal (and very obvious) flaw. #indiegames #demoreview #steamnextfest
