Finally getting to the point in my tree core scanner where I have to redesign the GUI as it is getting too cluttered from having more features added over time. This is probably a good problem to have tbh.

The user interface of FORGE. On the left side consisting of 75% of the screen is an in focus picture of a tree core sample as part of the live video feed of Forge. On the right side is a list of collapsible menus. Starting from the top is the titlebar which says "FORGE" below that is a menu section titled "Control" it contains a variety of buttons for moving and homing the 3D printer that Forge is based upon. In addition there is text for the step size and current X, Y, and Z position. The next section is titled "Automation" and has 3 buttons labelled "Start", "Stop", and "Pause". The next section is labelled "Camera Control" and contains buttons for taking photos, auto focusing, toggling the machine vision on and off, along with setting a filter to filter out hot pixels. The next section is "Sample Management" in this there are buttons labelled "Go to Sample" along with a plus and minus button that select samples 1 through 20. Below that is a scrolling section that contains the list of 20 samples with check boxes to mark which ones to scan, and names for each individual sample.
Multi sample imaging is now fully integrated into Forge's GUI! This makes it the cheapest and highest resolution multi tree core scanner out there!

An Ender 3 print bed with 3D printed sample trays clipped on to keep the tree core samples in alignment
3D printed sample holders to keep the tree core samples in alignment when scanning them. Next up is implementing multi sample scanning. I would add support for Klipper based systems, but I don't have a 3D printer that runs Klipper.

The first of the good stitched images have finally come out of my gigapixel imaging machine. It is much better than what's currently being used at the lab I'm borrowing the camera and lenses from. This is an estimated 1.5x3mm area of a tree core sample.

Made some QoL changes to the gigapixel scanner's UI. I'm hoping to get a full scan of a tree core sample done this weekend as that will mark the point where it's finally usable for its original intended purpose.

An Ender 3 3D printer with a custom 3D printed mount for designed to hold an Amscope MU 500 camera with a 10x lens on it. The camera is pointing downwards towards a slice of a tree on the 3D printer's print bed.
Designed a new camera mount for my 3D printer for imaging tree rings. The ring light hasn't arrived yet so I can't mount that too, but once that's added the only thing holding me back from low cost gigapixel scanning is my motivation to write the imaging software.
