A bad photo of a beautiful piece of art by Robert Motherwell. (Title in the post) A brilliant orange vertical rectangle, with two painterly blue lines horizontal across the bottom 1/3 of the work. A thin blue line above those, with two evenly spaced thin lines rising to the top of the work, a white unevenly shaped rectangle in the middle, with a lovely blue wrapper with writing in the center. The contrast between the orange background and blue collage element is lovely.

His breadth is freeing. When artists are told over and over to pick a lane, Motherwell proves that’s nonsense!
