Nichtlineare Kristallographie an Diamant Das Bild zeigt die Elektronenumverteilung in einer Diamant-Einheitszelle, wie sie mit nichtlinearer Kristallographie abgebildet wird. Die gelben Punkte markieren die Positionen der Kohlenstoffkerne, während die farbigen Flächen die Intensität der Valenzelektronenreaktion von
schwach (dunkel) bis stark (hell) darstellen. Die nichtlineare Kristallographie nutzt den Prozess der röntgenoptischen Wellenmischung, um Valenzelektronen anzuregen und ihre räumliche Verschiebung kohärent über das resultierende nichtlineare Signal zu untersuchen. Dieses Demonstrationsexperiment
legt die Grundlage, um zukünftig mit Röntgenwellenmischmethoden neue Materialeigenschaften zu erforschen.
