This semester I gave a couple of lectures to the graduate students in University of Houston on water science. I was astonished to find out that several students are very interested in #DGGS #DGGRID for hydrologic research. The Q&A session was filled with in-depth discussions.
Justus made a great intro on using #DGGS through #xarray #xdggs at the #Pangeo showcase talk. Xdggs is now in a stage where you can use it fairly robustly with #HEALPIX and #H3. Other integrations like for #DGGRID are developed as separate plugins.

We recently made the first leap to apply our mesh independent flow direction model workflow to the DGGs. This will allow us to run hydrologic models on virtually any resolution supported by DGGs. #earth #hydrology #dggs #dggrid #GIS
