Barrel's screenshot is edited into the 'Book your reservations' segment near the bottom of the page, and it is slightly obscured by a render of the Mach Pizza Man. A small write-up hovers above the screenshot, reading '... just like a regular Joe if they want a fine dining experience at a restau-rant in EarthBound'. The screenshot itself takes place in the dilapidated, zombie-overrun town of Threed, and features Ness and Paula interacting with Barrel in an alley between a building and the Hospital. Barrel stands small with a surprisingly well-built frame. His fur is dominantly orange, though he has crimson stripes on both sides of his face that are the same shade of color as the tips of his ears. Of note are his eyes which, in place of the usual cartoony white eyes with small, ovular irises, are represented as two small black, ovular irises. Ruby Ramirez, a delivery girl skunk who serves as Gigi's rival, looms over her in a full, panning POV shot revealing her entire design from head to toe. Ruby stands at a medium height with a compact body type, and wears a large, open black jacket with hot pink wrist cuffs and pockets. Under her jacket, she wears a dirty pink short-sleeved t-shirt as well as a pair of gunmetal navy jeans and regent grey sneakers. She also wears a crimson sports visor, relatively close to the same shade of pink as the cuffs of her jacket, and her right ear is pierced with a large, golden hoop earring. Ruby's fur is a deep shade of fuscous grey, and down her neck as well as her enormous tail are stripes of a lighter, mercury white fur color. Her hair, which swoops down over the side of her face, is the same white color, and she has a small pink nose, the same color as her inner ear. She stands in a relatively laid-back pose, with one of her arms held out and the other tucked into the pocket of her jacket with a sly grin. Behind Ruby is a small city block in Bendersville, primarily featuring a California Blue brick building with a large storefront window on its right, with text reading 'Stuff and Things, Things and Stuff' printed onto the glass. However, Mr. Hartley's greatest trait is his resilience; sure, money is always tight, willing applicants are few and the Dine 'n Dash name has seemed to fade into obscurity, though Mr. Hartley refuses to give up; after all, he believes in the success of his restaurant, and cherishes his employees dearly.

When he's not putting his unconventional methods of keeping the place clean forward, you can most likely find him stowed away in what he likes to call 'his office'… which, coincidentally, is the storage closet in the kitchen. Carl is something of a comic— he's always working on material to get some yuks from his coworkers or customers, and aspires to achieve comedian stardom like his father one day. For now, however, he's plenty fine laying low at Dine 'n Dash; for all we know, the world may not be ready for Carl's pun-tastic prestige yet!
