Duskbirds #15: "Communication" | Text reads: "We can reach more people than ever before. But we aren't listening to each other. We're at each others' throats ... and it tightens like a vice around me."
Managed to mostly finish the layouts for Duskbirds vol 1 & 2 yesterday (text and deciding how to organize the comics took the most time) - hoping I can bang out all the art edits today
Here's one I just reformatted (vol 2). #15, from 2023 - things seem the same or worse now, eh

Cover layout for "Duskbirds: Volume 2 - Introspective Comics." Shows the title with an illustration of "ghost Elsium" underneath, a horned creature with an anteater-like nose looking distressed.
Alternate version of the previous cover; full-bleed version.
Potential cover mock-ups for volume 2 - I like how it gives me an excuse to use this illustration of Elsium. I've always enjoyed how distressed he looks in it, haha. It seems to fit Volume 2's theme.
Volume 1 is "lighthearted comics"

One of my "duskbirds" chasing a wisp.
Rough 2d frame animation to practice some basics - only a test and not intended to be finished. Learned a lot with this one that I want to apply to my next attempt, which I DO hope to be more finished. :D

Digital painting of a quadruped avian in a foggy environment looking distressed.
"Mirror" Elsium (or "ghost" Elsium)

Panel comic crop showing an anthropomorphized, vaguely avian character flailing against its pillow, aghast at its inability to find slumber during the night.
Panel crop from an upcoming #duskbirds page that I thought looked a little amusing on its own
Digital comic page for "Duskbirds." Transcript: Duskbirds #31 "What are memories?" "These precious pieces of meaning." "As ephemeral as stardust." "Stardust" | Tuesday July 30th, 2024 @Landylachs
Duskbirds #31 | “Stardust”
This one shows Elsium instead of the usual Duskbirds (you can tell by the horns and leaf tail!)

Painting illustration of a quadruped animal looking down into his reflection in a still, quiet forest river stream. He has a skull-shaped, vagely avian snout, serpentine tail tipped with a red leaf-like shape, and glowing tendrils from his arched back. Bamboo grows across the stream from where he stands, while behind him are the barked trunks of trees. Various rocks can be seen above and below the surface of the water. Short and long fronds of grass grow along the riverbank, a slight cliff and wild vines draping as we look toward the distance.
"Still Water"
An older painting of Elsium, one of my "duskbirds"

An elongated creature hugs a crescent moon. His head is crowned with two pairs of horns. The top is a pair of short, spiked horns, with a pair of longer, curved horns underneath.
"Hug the moon"
Painting of my "duskbird" oc, Elsium, from a while back.
