Dynjandi is a bridal veil type of waterfall. The entire waterfall is made of several smaller falls and cascades over the basalt cliffs. Its beauty and delicacy are a deception. We were there in May and the snow melt was going strong, but the earlier winter storms and snow melt were so strong that the water and ice tore the rails and benches to pieces at a viewing area. Far into the remote areas of the Westfjords of Iceland you can find the incredible and breathtaking waterfall known as Dynjandi. The name Dynjandi is translated to “thunderous” and it is the largest waterfall in the Westfjords. This is a truly spectacular place.

This photo, on the other hand, was shot from the base of the waterfall looking away from it.

The weather wasn’t great while I was there (aka "Icelandic weather" 😂) so the light on the falls was flat. But we got a ray of sun on the opposite hills.
